Hey Floorballers,



Week two is now in the books, and I just wanted to send out a quick league update! We had pretty low numbers showing up to help move the boards in to the gym, which is not cool. If you're playing in the early game, make an effort to get there on time and help set up. The more folks that show up early to help set up, the easier it is. Don't make your team captain look like a chump by not showing up. Now on to the good stuff!



Early Game: Green Armadillos @ Big Red!

The early game saw the only team with an actual W in the books taking on the freshly named Red Team, creatively remonikered "Big Red!". The pace of this game early on was pretty intense, with both teams flying up and down the floor. Both Red Goalie Bobby Nodea and Green Goalie John Bowers were up to the task early, making several highlight reel saves to keep the game close. At the half, the score was tied at 1.

The second half saw the Armadillos jump out to an early lead, then play smothering defense to hold off the late Big Red Attack. Armadillo Teen Wolf Impersonator finished the game with a hat trick, and Green took home the W.

Late Game: Vikings @ Cobra Kai

The Vikings dominated the first half, scoring 6 goals before the horn for a commanding 6-3 lead over a very disorganized Cobra Kai. The second half saw Cobra Kai turn things around, and with 5 minutes left, CK had pulled to within one goal at 9-8. With a minute left, Cobra Kai goalie Mark Raup came out for an extra attacker, the the Vikings defense held strong to pull down the win, 9-8.

Final Score

Vikings - 9

Cobra Kai - 8

6:10 Players in second game break down the boards and help put them in storage.

PLEASE NOTE THAT EVERYONE WILL BE HELPING SET UP AND TAKE DOWN THE RINK.

Arriving late/leaving without helping set up/break down is unacceptable. EVERYONE is responsible for helping our games run on time and smoothly, not just a few people.

This Sunday will help set a benchmark for how early/quickly we can get everything set up, so please do not be late.
